As the demand for renewable energy sources continues to grow, the development of larger solar power plants has become an increasingly popular option. These solar panel plants have the potential to generate large amounts of clean energy, but they also present a number of challenges.
The largest solar power plant in the world is the Bhadla Solar Park, which was completed in 2020. This solar thermal power plant is located in Bhadla in the Jodhpur district of Rajasthan, India. The Bhadla Solar Park is a 2.25GW solar photovoltaic power plant and the largest solar farm in the world, encompassing nearly 14,000 acres of land.
In this context, large-scale PV power plants, in particular, are rapidly expanding. At a global scale, utility-scale installations are anticipated to constitute approximately 66.7% of the worldwide capacity by the year 2050 .
