The energy storage device (ESD) cell, be they are electrochemical batteries or super-capacitors (SC), is the main source of power in portable electronic devices in consumers' electronics.
A pack consists of battery cells in a matter of series and parallel connection. The number of cell channels varies from 12 to 64. Since the battery cells require a proper working and storage temperature, voltage range, current range for lifecycle and safety, the designer must monitor and protect the battery cell in the pack level.

The typical voltage range of a LiFePO4 cell is 2.5 V (0% SOC) about 3.65 V (100% SOC), so the design uses a battery simulator to provide cell voltages from 2.5 V to 3.7V to verify the VCELL accuracy of the BMU. The maximum error of all cell channels for the bottom BMU is 1.3 mV at a room temperature of 27°C.
Initially, each cell has 3.958 V and 3.712 V, where the voltage difference is 246 mV. To execute the equalization process, theoretically, cell balance will in 3.835 V but the equalization circuit achieved 0 mV after 83 min. The cell voltage becomes equal in 3.821 mV and using Eq. (9) equalization efficiency estimated near 96%.
