This phenomenon complicates the attainment of maximum power through maximum power point tracking (MPPT), thereby jeopardizing the stability and reliability of the PV cells' operation. To address the challenges posed by PSCs and enhance the precision and expeditiousness of MPPT in PV cells.
To get maximum power out of a solar panel, three aspects need to be considered: i. Irradiance: Modifies the present operational point of a PV panel. ii. Temperature: Adjusts the operating voltage point of PV panels. iii. Load: The load acts as a voltage and current reference.
Owing to the nonlinear voltammetric characteristics of Photovoltaic (PV) cells, multi-peaks emerge on the voltammetric curve under partial shading conditions (PSCs). This phenomenon complicates the attainment of maximum power through maximum power point tracking (MPPT), thereby jeopardizing the stability and reliability of the PV cells' operation.
Finally, the current study shows that the tracking of the MPP of solar panels through direct estimation of the optimum voltage with temperature can offer performance that is comparable to that of tracking devices employing more complex algorithms.
