This paper proposed three different energy storage methods for hybrid energy systems containing different renewable energy including wind, solar, bioenergy and hydropower, meanwhile.
Through a comparative analysis of different energy storage technologies in various time scale scenarios, we identify diverse economically viable options. Sensitivity analysis reveals the possible impact on economic performance under conditions of near-future technological progress.
Energy storage technology can effectively shift peak and smooth load, improve the flexibility of conventional energy, promote the application of renewable energy, and improve the operational stability of energy system [,, ].
The benefit values for the environment were intermediate numerically in various electrical energy storage systems: PHS, CAES, and redox flow batteries. Benefits to the environment are the lowest when the surplus power is used to produce hydrogen. The electrical energy storage systems revealed the lowest CO 2 mitigation costs.
Das et al. Das, et al. 9 used a hybrid photovoltaic and wind energy system with different energy storage technologies to meet the load needs of remote communities and found that proper energy storage technology can significantly affect system performance.
